Welcome to Mark Stanley’s Photo Gallery. As any of you who know me are aware, photography is one of my favourite hobbies, and the photos within this section of ragorder.com are the fruits of the time I spend with my beloved Canon 400d. Lightbox Shots (26 photos)

Shots taken on a tripod, in my new self-made lightbox. Objects are in my new lightbox, which I made myself following these instructions. Well worth the effort if you feel like attempting it yourself. My results aren't perfect yet - these are a collection of experiments, but I'm getting closer to some really good ones I feel.

Dublin Butterfly House - June 2007 (16 photos)

One of my favourite places to bring my camera - the Dublin Butterfly House in Swords, Co Dublin. A great place for adults and children alike.

Dublin Fruit Market (25 photos)

I dropped in to Dublin Fruit and Flower Market on the way home from town. It was my first time there and it proved to be a really interesting place to photograph. It may have been better earlier when there were more people about, but the building and its contents proved to be very interesting subjects for photographing.

Chilli's (17 photos)

The life and times of some chilli plants that I germinated from chilli seeds from a chilli I bought in my local supermarket. At around 3 inches high, I gave one to a few friends in work and kept one. What ensued was a race to grow the biggest plant and biggest chilli. As you can see, we've already had a death in the family thanks to Aonghus's lack of care !

Something I've gotten into recently - dabbling in some sports photgraphy. I go to ladies gaelic games every week, and I've started to get the camera out and try to anticipate the action. The photo's here are mostly taken with my Canon 75-300mm f/4-5.6 lense. No IS here. These are all hand-held. Next thing is to bring the tripod with me. I take many more than I upload - my ratio of good to total shots is low, but I'm working on it !

These old trucks were down in Glengarriff when I visited there in May 2007. They belonged to a group of middle-aged English gentlemen who drove them over to drive around the 'beautiful country of Ireland' as they put it to me !

First Daffodil of Spring (7 photos)

These are some photos I took a while ago of the first daffodil I saw open this year. In fact they are actually the first daffodils of Winter, since these were taken on February 10th 2007. That's Global Warming for ya ! Not the prettiest of flowers, but they are the first and nothin's taking that away from them, dya hear ? These were taken beside the rose garden in St. Anne's Park in Raheny, Dublin. One of my favourite places to meet my family for a walk on a Sunday afternoon. Taken with Canon 400d and 18-55 kit lense.

Eugene's Post-it Car (41 photos)

Eugene Hillery is leaving our company after nearly 7 years. We felt he needed to be at the receiving end of one last little practical joke before he went on his merry way. After seeing this done before on a flickr photo, we decided this would be a great way to send him off. Approx 5,000 post-it notes, 5 people, and 1hr later we transformed Eugene's Alpha Romeo into a Post-it Car. Thanks to Rob, Kieran, Sharleen, and Donnacha for helping make this happen !!! -Mark Stanley PS: We paid for the post-its ourselves - they did not come from the company's stationary press.

Swords and Malahide Estuary on a foggy Spring morning @6am. These shots were taken at Swords Business Campus on the Balheary Road in Swords, under the M1 Bridge at Mlahide Estuary, and at the north side of the estuary itself, at dawn in February. Promised I'd credit my bro, Ian, for getting up and coming along with me on this cold Sunday morning expedition. So there's your credit Ian !
