Broken Social Scene - Broken Social Scene
YIKES! Lazy, busy, half-arsed, just plain wasted..... Whatever you want to label my contribution to DMC so far, well your probably right. But now that's all gonna change - so here we go, here's the first post! A tip for the top......
Broken Social Scene - Broken Social Scene
I spent a good few hours over the Christmas break hanging out with my good friend Seamus! And listening to this dazzling collection of experimental mini-symphonies. They hail from Toronto, and with an ever changing lineup (upto 17 at some points), that includes Feist and members of Metric. This album has pretty much everything you need, not so much a collection of songs as it is a complete musical mish-mash. Tons and tons of Instruments and Vocalists on almost every track - its not always immediately apparent how great these tracks are. Listen Deep and just when you think a track is dwindling it comes back with a gigantic break or chorus to slap you right in the chops!
Standout tracks for me are Major Label Debut, Swimmers and Windsurfing Nation.
Good news too, they are playing in the Temple Bar Music Centre on Saturday Feb 11th tickets are only 17 notes including rip-off fee - so not too pricey either. Saturday February 11, 2006 - Dublin, Ireland - Temple Bar Music Centre.
